This weekend I went hunting for a body scrub. I usually make my own with sugar and some oils, but it was my birthday. I wanted to indulge myself without the labor of mixing up a scrub. (Not that it's all that intense or anything.) After going to Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works and being disappointed by the overly perfumed scrubs they had to offer, I stopped by the Carol's Daughter counter in Macy's. I love their counters because you can try everything before you buy it. It's like Sephora, but better. I literally smelled everything and fell in love with Almond Cookie. Now, I remember Mary J. Blige saying on Oprah (forever ago) that Almond Cookie was her favorite scent and what made her invest in the brand. I don't know why I never tried it. I proceeded to slather the oil on my hands. I couldn't reach my arms because I had a coat on. So, I'm stumbling around looking for a tissue. It was super rich but not thick and sticky. You know what I mean. It was so yummy! I wanted to get everything in the Almond Cookie collection: the scrub, the oil, the candle, cleansing gel, the soap — just everything Almond Cookie. But, wouldn't you know they were sold out of everything except the Eau de Toilette. You know I felt like such a crack-head when I contemplated asking to buy the full size public samples. I mean they were practically full and just sitting there. Don't judge me, I said contemplated I didn't actually follow through. I was barely out of the door opening the box, racing to my car and then practically drenching myself and car seats with it.Do you remember a few months ago when I told you I was spraying that Black Vanilla leave in like a fiend? Well, it is like ten times worse with Almond Cookie. I have only had it since Friday and I've used nearly 1/3 of the bottle. It's bad! I spray it everywhere in my house, my car and on me. Today Carol's Daughter website is offering free shipping until midnight tonight, but even they are sold out of half of the things I really really want. I know it's sad. I guess if you love this stuff you really need to stock up when they have it. OMG I want the oil though — badly. I've been rationing my Black Vanilla Leave In lately because they are always sold out and I was just spraying it too much. I signed up for the e-mail alerts so I can know when the Almond Cookie all is back in stock. I don't think I can wait. I think the things that I love the most about Carol's Daughter is first, you gotta love Lisa Price (the founder) how she became filthy rich is just inspiring and next is the scents and then her oils. I really love her oil blends.
I wish they would make fragrance oils for the home in Black Vanilla and Almond Cookie. I'm obsessed with those oil warmers from Bath & Body — AMAZING!
Anyway, that's my product rave for the week. Do you have any stories of OMFG Products? Send them to me at info@maneandchic.com.
I feel the same way about Groove by Carol's Daughter. I love that scent and my bottle is almost gone even though I just got it for Christmas. People I know and strangers are always complimenting me on how good I smell. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI had an OMG moment when I used the Aubrey Organic Honeysuckle conditioner. I had just finished washing my hair with the honeysuckle shampoo which can really tangle your hair if you're not careful and when I put some of the conditioner on my hair...my hair just melted like butter!! It was like the seas had parted. I had that same moment with Lacio Lacio leave in conditioner too. Every time I put that leave in conditioner in my hair I find myself amazed at how soft it makes my hair feel and so easy to comb through.
I'm trying to go back to using all natural stuff on my hair and skin but that Lacio Lacio is the truth!!

lol @ reading this ...made me smile. I had the same reaction when I first sampled it a few years back. I have the body cream and slather it on when I'm in a VERY good mood and need to treat myself. I always thought the eau toilette was a bit expensive, so before work at my part time, I'd often sneak into a nearby Sephora...lather up my hands in the cream & follow up with about 3 quick spritzes of the cologne. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THE COOKIE! I tried to recreate the scent sometime last year, came close, but realized all the fun is in actually buying all of her yummy goodies and using em up once you get home;-)
ReplyDelete*It's not my B-day anytime soon...but I might splurge on the spray;-)
Almond cookie is my FAVOURITE FAVOURITE FAVOURITE scent from Carol's Daughter...
ReplyDeletehonestly... i cant really be bothered with the rest of them since this one screams my name!!!
and i completely understand the obsession! Since Carol's Daughter is hard to come by in Canada (you can get it.. but it's gonna be pricey!) I wired my friend some money so that I could get my fix when she came up from buffalo....
mmmmm.... almond coooookie!!! :)
makes me smile
I agree I LOVE the Almond Cookie scent (I have the shea butter lotion), and the Black Vanilla Leave-In, but the Almond Cookie is just GREAT.
