These teardrop earrings above by Ellen Himic are $215 at Max & Chloe. The design is woven from delicate ribs of silver and has a bohemian yet modern feel. The crochet teardrop earrings below are by Marcia Moran and are $83 at Max & Chloe. Both sets are most definitely statement pieces. Wear them and spark an instant conversation.

I love them both! I have sensitive ears so they have to be sterling silver or 14k gold (I haven't worn gold in years...) I just wish I could find good quality and funky jewelry that's reasonably priced...
ReplyDeleteI'm metal-sensitive too. You can still wear cute/trendy/cheap earrings, as long as they're dangly ones, like the type shown above-- just replace the hooks with 14k-plated hooks! I have six pairs of hooks (and a little baggie of jump rings) and I just switch them out. Bought 'em a few years ago online (maybe $45 total?) Haven't lost a hook yet, and I've only had to use a few new rings (those things are tiny!).
ReplyDeleteIf the earrings have metal parts that are really swingy or long, (enough to brush my face or shoulders), I coat the cheap stuff in clear nail polish. Possibly being paranoid there, but hey: better safe than sorry.
