On going natural…
I transitioned and was anxious to wear a TWA, so I wore braids for 2 or three months and then went for the BC. I’ve been natural for approximately 10 years. I decided to do it after my husband suggested I go for it.
Karen’s hair care regimen…
I alternate every week between shampooing and co-washing. This regimen keeps my scalp clean and my hair moisturized. I deep condition every time I co-wash, which is every other week. I steam my hair for 15 minutes, then use my Luscious Locks Hair Mask, leave that in for a half hour and gently rinse. I trim my hair once a year. As for heat styling, my stylist does a quick blow dry to stretch my kinks before she braids it every week. I don't color or highlight my hair. I basically only wear my hair in two styles that I love. A super huge 'fro or my signature cornrows with an Afro bang style.

Thanks for sharing. I love Karen's stuff. I purchase something almost every week. I just got the Hair Mask and I tried it on my 1 year old son, it works. I use the hair cream on myself a lot, love the Chamomile Sage the best. Thanks Karen, your products are a blessing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! This is great. Karen's products are wonderful, and I can't wait for that spa to open! I'll have to check out Mishon Mishon as well since I live in Brooklyn.

great interview! Love her products and can't wait to see the new packaging
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you did this interview. I've always been curious about KBB. She made my day mentioning that she trims her hair once a year. I think I'll do similiar, at least no more than twice. I've always doubted that every 6 to 8 weeks is absolutely necessary.
ReplyDeleteHappy to read she's expanding.
Great interview.
Aaaah my favorite natural hair product guru! I swear by KBB's stuff, AND I promote it on my blog and to all those who follow. You look gorgeous hunny and maybe one day I will make it to your store in the NY! lol
