I just finished watching Kelis' new video, Acapella. It was super creative from the concept, the hair, the makeup and I especially love the end. Very cute! I've read a lot of blogs that hate on her new hairstyle, but I love it. It's different. Everybody will be on it 3 years from now. I notice that about Kelis. She's one of those earlier adapters and what she did 5 years ago is what people are just beginning to do now (mmm...Rihanna). Her styling may never be mainstream, but it's always edgy and highly entertaining. Love her. Watch the video for yourself below.

ReplyDeleteI seriously HEART Kelis! Since day one with dayglo hair screaming "I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!!" Love the video, especially the end. So beautiful and regal with baby Knight!

ReplyDeletei actually LOVE the hair. who would go gray/silver fox so early and voluntarily its AWESOME (note: i sooo want to be silver when i'm older).
ReplyDeleteanywho, as an singer blah, but as an entertainer (i.e. the hair, wardrobe, etc) is actually is forward thinking and a lot of people say that about A LOT of artists (rihanna - she so far from creative and talented).
i saw this video a couple of days ago and shared the EXACT same opinion, 3 years from now when Rihanna or Lady Gaga's STYLIST tell them it's cool to do now, they will do it and the minions will follow.
OMG!!! I was thinking the same exact thing.. I love Kelis, and as much as I love Ri Ri's hair/style.. I always had that thought in the back of my head, in regards to Kelis was rocking the shaved head waaaaay before!! LOL

ReplyDeleteI'm feelin it. The hairdo isn't conventional, but this is a music vid. The set, color and curls are fine by me, I actually just don't like the hairline opacity. Kellis looks very hot and this is an interesting song. Kinda weird key in the beginning, but overall, I say GO GIRL
