This year I am mostly focused on length goals, low manipulation and experimenting with hair styles.
What are you hair goals for 2010? Are you aiming for a certain length? Looking to stop bad habits? Limiting or avoiding heat usage? Share in the comments.
My hair goals for 2010 include maintaining the overall health and condition of my hair, keeping a closer eye on my ends and dust/trim them when needed, and ultimately and hopefully reach WL by the end of this year..
ReplyDeleteI'm natural but recently permanently colored the front of my hair so I want to make sure to pamper this area to prevent any unnecessary breakage/setbacks.
If you don't mind me asking, What are your goals for 2010?
I've been natural for about 3 years and my hair is about 8 inches from the nape of my neck. This year I plan to do more deep conditions (I've never really done them in the past.) Hopefully I can get to 12 inches by year's end.

My goal is to retain length and to get to APL by Jan 2011. Also to stick to my weekly regimen of shampoo and deep conditioning.

ReplyDeleteMy goals are to start over and gain confidence that my hair will grow. I've been natural for about three years and I recently permed it because I really wanted that straight look and feel. Now I am opting to just getting sew-ins (what I have in now) and re-grow my hair out. hopefully December 2010, my hair will be at least to the end of my ear, being natural again. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteCHANGE - I HAVE HAD DREADS FOR THE PAST 17 YEARS OF MY LIFE (IM TURNING 30 THIS YEAR). I WANT TO DISCOVER A NEW STYLE AND LOOK THIS YEAR.
ReplyDeleteMy hair goals this year are simple. I'm not incorporating any length goals. I want to continue focusing on the overall health of my hair in terms of cleasning, conditioning and caring for it.
ReplyDeleteThis year's personal hair challenge is no chemicals and no cutting and accomplishing tht will be a goal within itself.
Unfortunately, I have heat damaged ends :( so I plan on growing it out as much as possible until December (hopefully to BSL), then doing another BC at the end of this year to get them all off. Also I plan on only straightening 3x in 2010.
ReplyDeleteI want to use no direct heat for the whole year. Also, I want to have thick, strong and healthy ends. My hair grows but I have an issue retaining length. I am full APL, maybe brushing BSL and I want to end the year with full thick BSL (when stretched) hair that is healthy.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for BSL by the end of 2010 (fingers crossed!). Also, I usually allow myself to heat straighten my natural hair once a month, and I'm hoping to lessen that to once every two months.
ReplyDeleteI want to have the last of my relaxed ends cut off by May of this year and learn more DIY hairstyles. By the time I take my ends off I don't want to straighten my hair again. And I'm pushing for bsl by September. Oh and starting oil my scalp more often.
ReplyDeleteI have already conquered one of my 2010 goals.... I finally learned how to cornrow my own hair! Yay! I was so excited after an entire weekend of practice.
ReplyDeleteNow I am focusing on weekly deep conditions along with protective styling 4 days out of the week.
I am still transitioning. The ratio of new growth to relaxed ends is 2:1 now and my hair is armpit length. Im so excited. Its been 13 months. I am holding on for another 4 hopefully.
My goal is also to retain more length using low manipulation(I intend to to do that by doing less steps in my day to day routine and on wash days) and more protective styling. I love twist outs but I find that they leave my ends a tangled and dry mess so I'm opting for messy French rolls and buns. I just ordered a bun cover and I'm excited to try that out. Keep us posted on your experiments, MnC!
ReplyDeletemy goal is to help my hair get to collarbone legnth, so Im going to drink more water. :) and lots of wishful thinking. But I want to not obsess over it.. Also find a better leave-in conditioner.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to be able to put my hair in a ponytail with a swoop in the front this year. I just cut all of the relaxed ends and I've been wearing sew-ins for the past 5 months
ReplyDeleteMy plan is to cut off the rest of my relaxed ends until my 2 yr. transitioning anniversary....learn how to braid.....and try out new styles besides bantu knots and TnC's.
ReplyDeletesince August 2009, I have kept boxbraids in my hair . My goal is to have about 16 inches of hair by leaving my hair alone, using natural products, and eating a healthy vegetrarian diet. I think my hair is about 12 inches right now. I use carol's daughter black vanilla leave in conditioner or massage with sweet almond oil. For deep conditioning, Amla powder, Brahmi powder, Olive & Clove Therapy and water. For shampoo/conditioner, Giovanni's organic Deep Moisture. Every once in a while, I will use african royale's braid spray because it flattens my hair while in a satin scarf.
