Long Hair

How long do you want your hair to be and why? Do you care about length or are you more into thickness? How long do you want your hair stretched? How long in a natural state? Share in the comments.

  1. I would like my hair to be arm pit length when stretched because I feel like that is a comfortable length for my face shape and I feel like that length looks best when it's straightened. You can also make full looking buns and nice swishy ponytails. I care about thickness and length. I'd rather have moderately long and moderately thick hair but I'd put thickness over length if it comes down to it. Nothing if worse than seeing someone with thin long hair!!

I guess I am more comfortable with that length because that's how long my hair was before I went natural (it is now shoulder length)

  2. I want it all! always admired people with thick healthy hair...I want my hair to reach the middle of my back, I'm half way there! Being a cali girl I've always been "natural" but I've had my hair pressed since I was a little girl, I'm ready to get to know my natural hair again!

  3. Length: Under bra strap
    Thickness: Same
Same texture, or I would like to have more of my 3b(from the back) in my crown and loser sides.

At that length, I can still wash in the sink if I have to. Long enough or up-dos, short enough to do a wash and go.

All in all, as long as it stays healthy, curly, and bouncy; it can grow as slow as it wants.

  4. I want to grow my hair just a few inches longer solely because I want bigger hair. My WnGs tend to look a little goofy last year because my hair was at an odd length. I would like for my hair to brush my shoulder curly (I may be there now). My hair is thick enough so I am hoping that it doesn't get any thicker. The stretched length doesn't really matter.

  5. Length without thickness is a waste. But, thickness w/ any length is gorgeous. With that said, I am all about maintaining my thickness and upping the length.
Ideally: curly= apl/bsl stretched= full mbl (or an inch or 2 more)

  6. I'm currently an 18 month transitioner. I want my hair to eventually be a foot, all natural and unstretched, because I LOVE long hair(...and I have a big apple head! lol). I care more about length, because I've always had a head full of thick hair, so it was never a problem, but I never could get my relaxed hair past 9 to 10 inches.

  7. I really want my hair to be Bra Strap Length because I love long hair and I've never had that length so reaching my goal of BSL would be amazing. I care about both the length and thickness, because without thickness my hair wouldn't look as luxurious as I picture long healthy hair. As of right now my my hair reaches my neck in its natural state and just a little pass my shoulders when flat Ironed. BTW Mane and Chic what can you tell me about Diva Smooth. I am really interested and I'm trying to look for different options of straightening my hair without relaxers. Thanks!

  8. I have 4 b hair so it doesn't hang wiithout being stretched. I would like to see it shoulder length stretched. Why? Because I love experimenting with different styles, I can easily bun it when I don't want to fool with it, I have fine textured hair and this length would allow me to have decent looking twists and braids, I look better with that length.

  9. I want the full potential of my hair. The longest it can get and the thickest. I might be satisfied with full bsl hair...but then again, maybe not. :)

...that seems like a fun, summer length for my texture!

(clicking my red heels to go from Amber Rose close-shave to that in a few months lol)

  11. Speaking of Amber Rose, two months ago i shaved my APL(stretched) natural hair down to 5/8 inch. I have been natural for about 15 years and have been as long as BSL. At 45 I am about 60% grey. I had been coloring the grey but have finally decided to stop, so I had to get rid of that dyed black hair. I suppose I could have transitioned to grey, but that ends up looking pretty skunky for a long time. It is a wonderful siver color and I have always thought black women with silver hair look HOT, especially when you maintain a youthful body, face and personal style. I am not sure how long I will let it grow. Long enough to look big and fat, but not so long that it becomes a chore to maintain.

  12. Mid-length to lower back. I've always been fascinated by long natural hair. I want to see if I can pull it off.

  13. I would like my hair to be mid-back length. I have locs, so at that length I would have quite a few style options. Plus, my hair never really grew enough to even touch my shoulders when I relaxed. I would like to see my hair reach a length I could never imagine it reaching.

Length and thickness go hand in hand; both are needed to show how healthy your mane is. Long thin locs are not appealing either.

Right now my hair grazes my shoulder (smiles) when wet, they lay ever so nicely on them.
