Do You Wear Your Hair To Please Others?
Do you wear your hair the way you want or to please other people? Maybe you're single and looking for a man, do you let that dictate how you wear your hair or could you care less? Maybe your husband only likes you to wear your hair a certain way, do you oblige him? Do all of your friends and people you associate with wear their hair a certain way? Do you feel pressured to follow suit?

My husband like my hair both straight and curly... but I know he loves being able to run his fingers thru there so I have no issues straightening it from time to time. Gotta throw him a bone. lol...

I wear my hair 1. according to the way I am feeling in the moment and 2. according to how it desires to be worn. I've never been much of a trend or opinion follower.
ReplyDeleteI have never really changed my hair because of the opinions of others...if that were the case I probably would have never gone natural in the first place.
ReplyDeleteSame here as Ang, I wear my hair in response to how I feel and it will let me style it(these days I'm nice to it so It's treating me well). Whenever I do me, I'm attractive.
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my hair loc'd I mostly wore it out - which my husband loved. He didn't really like the ponytail look.
ReplyDeleteNow that my hair is loose, I still wear it out - and he still doesn't like the ponytail look!
A few years ago when I was transitioning from relaxed to natural hair, the guy I was dating at the time really liked my hair straight. I remember one time I rocked a twist-out and my hair was much shorter and I could see it on his face that he absolutely disliked the look. I admit that I wore weave and made sure my hair was always straight when I was around him. I knew that I wasn't being true to myself and I'm glad to say that that relationship didn't work out!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad to say that I have been in a relationship with a wonderful man for three years and he absolutely loves it when I wear my hair curly, in twists, or straight. But--I change my hair only for me and no one else now!
Funny how people say men like straight hair so they can run their fingers through it. My boo likes my hair natural because he can grab it. He says he get's a better grip when it's curly. That way I can't get away. Lol. Seriously, he has serious hand in fro disease. When we're just hanging out his hand will eventually end up in my hair. Ironically, he's white so my hair is very different from his.
ReplyDeleteI wear there way the way I want it if I feel like having straight hair without having to straighten my hair I will wear a wig. I changed my hair according to my mood of the day so I can rock different styles every other day. My friend likes it as well. He likes to play in my hair whether it is a wig or my natural hair and I let him do so
ReplyDeleteI'm in a long distance relationship so I'm protective styled in a two strand twist updo when we're apart but when we're together, it's all about the flat twist out. I want to make the most of our time together so looking and feeling super sexy helps. Wearing this twisted updo is practical, but it doesn't make me feel all that hot.
ReplyDeleteI do wear my hair to please other people and I don't know why. Don't get me wrong I switch it up every two weeks to something totally different unless the style I’m wearing isn’t ready to be taken down. But I do find myself wearing styles that get the most compliments the longest. The most surprising thing about it is I usually hate the style that everybody loves!~ But I wear it until I can't take it anymore but that not to long either because I love change. It’s so funny every time I go to work or church people are waiting to see the new style!!! LOL!!!

ReplyDeleteI just recently went natural, and I love it, but I also just cut it... so its extremely short when curly. I do wear my to please other people because I've been straightening it, when I personally have no problem with its natural state. I just wish it was longer..
ReplyDeleteI don't typically wear my hair to please others. There are exceptions: I graduate from College in Decemeber I will be straighting my hair for my mom and to fit my hair under my cap.If a man dislikes my hair we probaly not meant to be. My hair is very indicative of my personality and who I am:curly, tangled, bold, not easliy managed and always ready for a change.
ReplyDeleteI do sometimes change my hair up because of my surroundings. I work in a conservative field and sometimes I'll just pull my hair back into a bun to sort of fit in more. Although I'm not sure it's necessary. When I'm just doing my usual thing I'm all about big hair. The bigger the better. I never straighten my hair for work or events though.
