Trend Watch: Striped Frocks

It's the biggest trend for spring: nautical stripes. They come in and out of fashion every couple of seasons, but this year there is an explosion. It's EVERYWHERE! What's great about this trend is that you can mix the stripes with bright colors, florals and other patterns. I'll be showing more of the stripe trend this week and different options on how to work them. Last week I showed you the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Ariana striped jersey dress that retails for $575. I paired it with a bright blue bag and a bright yellow shoe. This week I'm showing more affordable options.

This is gonna sound really weird but even before I saw the Markus Lupfer dress, I had a dream where i was wearing it...
ReplyDeleteafrican prints are also in for the spring/ summer season... it is so interesting that stripes are in also because I thought that was spring/ summer 2009
ReplyDeleteYes tribal/ethnic and geometric trends are in all the shops and major stores as are stripes. As I said in the post they come in and out of fashion. There is a huge difference between trends and fads. I think stripes are a classic textile but the new shapes we are seeing them in may or may not be trends/fads or new classics. Whatever the case, they were definitely on the Spring 2010 runways and in all major department stores and top retailers this season.
