How Does Your Man Feel About Your Hair?

What does your significant other think of your hair? Do you find he has a preference in how you wear it? Is he supportive of the decisions you make concerning your hair?

Single ladies, do you notice a difference in how men respond to you depending on how you wear your hair?

  1. When I met my husband 13 yrs ago I use to wear my hair short tappered in the back/sides and he liked it. When I decided to grow my hair out he was supportive as well...he evens assist me with my relaxers. He prefers long hair on me especially when I do my pin curls after I rollerset. I believe if I ever decide to go natural he would be supportive as well :-)

  2. He absolutely loves it when I wear it down and curly. He isn't too keen on straight hair on me. Actually he hates it. My ex did too. Hmm maybe I am doing something wrong...or right:)

  3. My hubby was not feeling my hair, he is into the straight hair movement. After almost a year its growing on him. At times I'm sure, at others, not so much. Yesterday at a restaurant we saw a natural with a bomb diggity fro and flower, too cute! He said he was NOT liking her hair. But... it looked EXACTLY like mine. But he said he liked mine....

    Sure you do...

  4. My boyfriend is from lebanon. Girls there have straight or curly hair. He has noticed me because of my hair but he doesn't know how to touch it... I have to teach him... Because he cannot run his fingers through it

  5. I could chop off all my hair and he wouldn't notice....into.... other things, lol.

He says having a new hair style is like wearing a new pair of shoes...but on your head. Silly!!!!

  6. In my experience, reaction from men is dependent upon my location. When I'm at school(midwest)I receive more attention when my hair is straightened. When I am home(east coast) I receive just as much attention with my coils than if it were straight!

  7. When I met my boyfreind, I had a relaxer in and he said he liked my hair that way. When I decided to grow my hair out natural he was extatic and supported me to the fullest because he LOVES natural hair. However, I got impatient and decided to do a BC after about 2 months of transitioning. He was iffy about it because it was supper short and he was used to me having long hair. I told him I was going to loc my hair and he got super excited. He's my number one supporter and sometimes when I'm not feeling so good about my "babylocs" he's there to make me feel better with quotes like "baby I love your nappynaps". I think I'm pretty lucky...

  8. I love straightening my hair, and its weird that you asked this. Because now to think of it, only girls respond how great and shiny my hair looks straight. But when my hair curly Guys love it and flock to me with compliments. Thanks for bringing the question about.

  9. We attended high school together, same graduating class. I wore my hair straight...relaxed. Flash forward to Hurricane Katrina, meeting in Houston on a date for the first time, he said my natural hair (at this time, natural for about 7 years) was "different". In due time, he grew accustomed to, and appreciated my hair. He says it defines me. He loves it. He frowns if I look like I'm trying to alter my curls in any way. I'm also noticing that I'm getting lots of attention from men. I've been told they really dig the natural look. Extremely flattered considering EVERYONE looks alike here in Houston. Badly applied lacefronts or "Beyonce/Kardashian" wavy weaves are extremely popular here in Houston, so it's refreshing to see men (and some women with those weaves) admiring my natural beauty.

  10. It is funny, because my husband has always liked "BIG" hair. I think certain textures (including mine) have grown on him, but as long as it is BIG it is great. I get better quality compliments from men now and for the first time in my life, I have learned to like my face. I truly believe if you like it, they love it.

  11. My husband always loved short hair- I'm growing it out. He doesn't like weaves - I've been wearing them. Still he supports me. He does love my natural kinks. I was surprised by hearing a lot of horror stories but then again...they weren't my story.

  12. interestingly enough....when i rock my natural hair..i get a LOT of attention from white men. black guys my age (i'm 25) will still occassionally hit on me but i often hear "oh you should grow it out" or "you would look so pretty with long hair" which stings. i'm half spanish and that entire side of my family was VERY negative about the change so i sometimes feel pressure to flat iron my hair when i visit that said of the family. i truly feel a man that REALLY loves me will love me and my hair-no matter the style-as long as i love it.

  14. My hubby & I are from New Orleans. He likes straight hair. He & most of his fam have large smooth shiny curls or waves. He's not very supportive about this new endeavor ...then again he's not too supportive about most things I do. sometimes I kind of think he's coming around alittle
