Keitra

Meet Keitra in her own words...

On going natural...
I did the big chop. My hair has been natural since February 2008.

Hair care regimen...
I, thoroughly, wash my hair once per week but I wet and condition it every day. I deep condition bi-weekly. About once every three months, I get my hair trimmed. On average, I flat iron my hair once every two months or so. I don’t like to use heat on my hair much so I get a sew-in if I want the straight hair look. I color my new growth about once every three months. For deep conditioning, I use a combination of one egg, a tablespoon of mayo, a tablespoon of olive oil and a nice squirt of my favorite leave in conditioner. I got this recipe from my mom and she has been using this concoction since before I can remember. I use Crème of Nature and Dr. Miracle products on my hair (and not in any particular order). My favorite hair style is the wash, comb through and shake. LOL. I love how-ever my hair falls on any particular day, after I wet and condition.

You should know...
Although my hubby appreciates my natural hair, he likes the straight and sleek look best. It is sometimes difficult to be oneself when the norm is so different. Going and staying natural takes an inner strength that I am blessed to have a strong hold on.
