So, after much back and forth about going back to my roots, I DID IT and I LOVE IT!
Last night I grabbed a pair of scissors and a comb and just got to it, there was no stopping me once I got started.
Dear God it felt good! I looked funny because I cut rather uneven, but this morning I went to my local barber and got it even shorter and evened out.
It was such an amazing experience; the one thing I have learned from going back to my roots is to really LOVE ME as I am, without any extra embellishments.
Pre BC (Big Chop) Post BC (Big Chop)
I’ve received such good “reviews” everyone seems to like my cut. It’s only been a few hours quite literally so no hair routine has been established yet. Nevertheless, this morning when I got back from the barber before work, I co washed my scalp LOL and used coconut oil to lock in moisture.
I feel so liberated! It really is a ton off my shoulders, I will be sure to keep you posted as my hair continues to grow.
I KNOW THIS ROAD WONT BE JUST ROSY, BUT I’M SO READY!
Going back to my roots!
Regards,
Lucia

Congrats Lucia! That was a huge step. I'm sure lots of women out these reading your story will be inspired.
ReplyDeleteYou look so gorgeous! The new cut really shows off your beautiful facial features!
ReplyDeleteWow congrats! You look GREAT!
ReplyDeleteYour very brave cuz my professor who has done the big chop like yourself advised that I should do the same but I told her that I was too vain to do such a thing. Her response was as long as blood runs through your vains the hair will grow back. I commend you and I hope you continue on your path back to your roots. I'm only 5 months into my transition and I don't see the BC in my plans for atleast another year and a half. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!! Takes a lot of boldness to do this! Congrats!
