6 Reasons To Try Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle

Last night I nearly finished off my first bottle of Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle overnight repair treatment. Instead of doing a long-winded review, I figured I just keep it short and to the point. If you're a Product Junkie you don't really need a reason to try this nor do you need to hear a positive review, so just try it. For those of you that need a bit more coaxing, here's my official review of Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle overnight repair treatment.

You'll remember from the Trying Tonight: Kinky-Curly's Midnight Miracle post, that I first tried the Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle in April. I now literally have a teaspoon amount left in the 4 ounce bottle. So, it lasted about two months with once a week heavy-handed usage.

Here's why I liked it and why I think you should try it for yourself...

1. The ingredients are natural and are known to have amazing benefits for hair: imparting luster, preventing hair loss, soothe dry scalp, moisturize and more.

The ingredients in Midnight Miracle Overnight Repair Treatment:
Purified water, cetyl alcohol, palma christi (castor bean) extract, holy basil (tulsi) extract, sandalwood, fenugreek, soy protein, hops, meadowfoam seed oil, silk protein, aloe vera extract, yucca extract, dead sea salt, saponified coconut oil, and phenoxyethanol.

2. Midnight Miracle is fun to use. In the past I've used a face cleanser in foam form and it was fab and Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle was no different. I have also used similar products to set my hair. It's just something about the foam that makes it fun.

3. Midnight Miracle is different. I've never tried any deep treatment like this before. You don't have to use heat and you can just apply before bed on dry hair. Midnight Miracle is super lightweight. You know how some deep conditioners feel heavy when you put them on? This is so not that! It's something I hadn't noticed or even cared about before, but I kind of prefer the lightweight feel now over the thick heavy texture. I'm still a Conditioner Junkie so I won't exclusively use foam deep treatments. I will forever feel the need to saturate my hair with copious amounts of thick gelatinous creams, but this definitely showed me an alternative. I kind of wish more deep treatments would be made in foam form. It would make my life so much easier.

4. Midnight Miracle is no mess. Sleeping in this is a lot less messier than sleeping in other deep treatments. So, if you don't have time to do deep treatments and you hate the mess of sleeping them overnight, this product is for you. It's also a breeze to apply, much easier than typical cream conditioners.

5. It's really easy to use. I applied Midnight Miracle on my dry hair before I went to sleep in sections (like I do everything), topped off with a disposable shower cap, reapplied this morning and now I just have it in my hair with the shower cap until I shower again.

6. Instant sheen. The major thing I noticed about using Midnight Miracle was that it gave my hair instant sheen. I saw a difference upon first application. The first time I used it, I was rocking a blowout for my quarterly updates. The first thing I noticed was how shiny it made my hair and also how it made my curls pop back. I guess you could owe much of this to the consistency. Honestly, you can't really evaluate those properties when using a thick heavy cream conditioner, but that was a major reason why I liked Midnight Miracle. It was subtle, but I noticed.

I don't know if this is the end all be all of deep treatments, but I liked it. If you're looking to treat yourself and want to try something new, different and fun — try Midnight Miracle. It's $22 on kinky-curly.com.

Feel free to ask me any more specific questions about my experience with Kinky-Curly Midnight Miracle in the comments. In case you're wondering, it kind of smells like tap water, honey, syrup and aloe in the bottle (not really a positive), but then I could barely smell anything once it was in my hair or once it was in foam form.

  1. I've actually been looking for a deep conditioner, so this post is so timely for me! I'm a huge fan of kinky-curly products as well, so this is an additional plus.

one question: if you sleep with it on, do you find that if you shower and wet your hair in the morning, you "wash out" all the moisturizing effects? Or do you feel like the results of the deep conditioning lasts for some time?

thanks much for the tip and the review!

  2. It's more of a deep treatment than a deep conditioner. If you look at the ingredients they are mostly herbs and proteins to heal and repair the hair. I think that's why it's meant to be worn overnight. Also the benefits of using high quality natural products is that the ingredients have the power to actually heal your hair like medicine where other low quality products like products with mineral oil only provide a temporary fix.

I didn't find this product moisturizing it's a treatment to repair and build the strands so you might just follow up with a moisturizing conditioner. I think if used consistently over time a dramatic difference could be observed. I don't think that you could rinse away or wash out the benefits with just one washing but if you want you could always use it on clean hair and wear it overnight or for a few hours and then just rinse with water and follow with a moisturizing protein free conditioner.

  3. You sold me on the "less mess"! That's the one reason why I wasn't going to try this stuff. I'm just not a fan of overnight deep conditioning cause I'm a squirmy sleeper!
