I am a Hair Milk user, I like it for re-setting my hair at night. It reminds me of Luster's Pink Oil and Wild Root. Those are the two major products my Mom used on me when I was growing up. I like Carol's Daughter Hair Milk better because it has better ingredients and formulated without parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, sulfates, and artificial colors.
I think the packaging is really clever. I'm definitely going to try this after I finish with a couple of other products I need to use up.
What do you think? Are you interested in trying the new Hair Milk collection from Carol's Daughter?

I find CD stuff to be very heavy and oily-feeling in my hair. I am a 4b/c and I have THICK THICK THICK hair and CDs products smell great and I wanna support the sistah, but they simply don't work for me.
ReplyDeleteI got a sample of the Hair Milk Original from Sephora, and I must say my hair was not feeling this product. It went on nice at first, but later my hair felt "crispy" and coated. It made my scalp itch too. My hair just doesn't enjoy anything other than plain ol' olive oil...
ReplyDeleteI bought the Curl Definer and it's exactly like the old Hair Milk product which I liked. So far so good, I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna try the shampoo and conditioner, it's kind of pricey for the whole bit...
ReplyDeleteAnyway I like the Some of Margurites Magic and I like this stuff too.
I tried to use Hair Milk Original on my hair and my daughter's hair. It goes on wonderfully and feels good until our hair dried. Then it left it feeling really brittle and dry. I was really hoping it worked but as a stand alone product - it's a no go in my house.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm not letting the bottle go to waste, I've mixed it with a little olive and coconut oils.
I would love to support Carol's Daughter, but unfortunately her products do nothing for my hair. I have not found anything by her that is worth my money - sorry.
ReplyDeletei also have the old hair milk, it didn't leave my hair crispy or brittle but i did need to us a bit more than usual because my hair drank it up, burped and said whats next!!! it left my twist out silky, but made my scalp itch to the point that it felt as if it were on fire!!!
ReplyDeleteIm not a fan of all CD's products- but I like the original hair milk- i find it is a good hair dress & adds moisture to my hair. The curl booster looks interesting so I might want to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI received a sample of the shampoo, conditioner and hair milk through Sephora's V.I.B. program. I tried it last night after reading this post. The shampoo is extremely drying. I use her other shampoos as clarifiers, however this is really stripping. The conditioner was marginal at best. I may use it as a styler. The hair milk lite is great. It is a bit thicker than the original and my hair loved it. The smell, however, is something to get used to. For me it was a bit much. It lingered for about an hour.
ReplyDeleteI really like Carol's Daughter's oils... I use the Hair Milk kind of like a setting lotion to re-set my braid outs and I like the hair treatments in the jar. I'm not crazy about the shampoos.
ReplyDeletei purchased the small bottle of the hair milk lite. i have only used it once in the last few weeks. i really wanted to like it, but it does not compare to my eco styler gel, which provides me with a good 3 days of defined curls.
ReplyDeleteI bought the Hair Milk Lite (all $20 of it) and it has done well on my hair, which is very similar to Ms. Mane&Chic's. I used the Original in the past without incident, so I thought I'd try the lighter version. I have yet to come across a One-Hit Wonder (stand-alone product) in my arsenal, so this one was no different. I wore my hair in "The Mahogany" as I call it with Yes to Cucumbers for leave-in, HM Lite for moisture, and EcoStyler for hold and it did really well. I don't know if its worth the dub yet, but the 4oz lasted me a while so we'll see...
ReplyDeleteOH! I forgot... the smell is S.T.R.O.N.G. abosolutely nothing "lite" about it. And even more randomly it smells like men's cologne...
