Ok, here is Look 4/5 the 'Night Out' look using the 'Ink Pen and Pencil Skirt is from ModCloth ( $39.99). Super easy, I just paired the skirt with dressy strapless bustiers and coordinating shoes and a handbag. You might also consider pairing it with a silky bodysuit for a dressy look. A black lace bustier or body suit paired with lace pumps would work here too (see frame below for more options). The Marc Jacobs bustier top has a very subtle stripe pattern, if you're a fashion risk-taker you might also look for tops with patterns or textures to add even more visual interest. As for the accessories, the colors don't have to match perfectly. As long as they are close, it's fine for creating a monochromatic look with your accessories. Or you can go totally opposite and just mix colors that you think look good together.

Oooo LaLa. I love these look. The skirt is super cute. Question, do you think this type of skirt would look good on a full figure women (size 12/14)? Definitely feeling the Loubs as well. Might be time to splurge on my first pair of Louboutin's (if only I knew how to walk in them) LOL.

Thanks Christina, I think it depends a lot on your shape rather than your size. The pattern of the skirt will draw the eye there... so that's something to think about. Also you need to think about tucking in or not tucking in the top. If you're trying to hide your tummy, I say wear shapewear and tuck it in. Tucking the top in will hide bulge, make your legs look longer and trim the waistline. You might also wear a belt to cinch the waist, but if you're short waisted... ignore all that and don't tuck the shirt in. Wear heels if at all possible to create a longer leaner silhouette. Flats are comfy, but they don't really do anything to flatter your figure.
ReplyDeleteOh and yes I do think full-figures could work the hell out of this skirt.
