The fascinating sculptural head pieces are what drew me to the spring 2010 collection of Junya Watanabe. The wraps were very Badu circa 1997, taken up a notch. The garments were a sight also: menswear for women and the pieces are super flattering, the way they cinch the waist. Junya Watanabe designed a very edgy cardigan worn by Mrs. Obama (which reminded me of the episode of The Cosby Show where Denise makes Theo a knockoff Gordon Gartrell shirt — I digress).
