Yeah, I know it's from 2009, but I just loved the looks from Victoria Beckham's spring 2009 collection. They are timeless pieces that I thought I'd share with you. I'm a little biased when it comes to pencil dresses. I was first inspired to wear the look a few years ago when I saw Tracee Ellis Ross rocking them and studied the history and found them quite fascinating. Around this time, I was just coming into my womanhood: just out of college and I always felt more like a grownup in a pencil dress. Now, these dresses start at $1500 and I don't know if I'd ever pay that much for a dress so I always find dresses in fabrics I like with the length I like (mid-calf) and get them altered to hug me perfectly. If it were up to me I'd wear pencil dresses and platform pumps everyday. Anyway, the cut and lines of these dresses are amazing and hopefully you are as inspired by them as I am.
