Tip 1 Washing Hair With Gloves

Last night, for the first time, I tried washing my hair with gloves and I liked it. I love disposable latex and vinyl gloves for cleaning around the house or when I'm doing chemical peels, but yesterday I got the bright idea to wash my hair with my trusty gloves. Sometimes my nails snag on my hair and it always makes me cringe. If you've been reading the blog for a while then you know I'm super protective of my hair. Snagging or accidentally breaking my hair is tantamount to snagging or ruining a super expensive dress or shirt. I don't freak out or anything, but I have a moment. Anyway, the gloves were AMAZING! The ones I used are just like the ones pictured to the left (click them for more details). I could scrub my scalp as much as I wanted to without worrying about scratching it. I think I'll be using it for scalp massages too because that's another instance where my nails tend to snag on my hair.

How do you feel about washing your hair or doing scalp massages with gloves?
I want to try it

I've done this before to wash my hair after doing my nails and it definitely reduces the occasional nail snag and allows for a great scalp massage, but my hands end up missing my hair. :/

  3. I think this is a great idea. I've washed my hair with gloves before and I really liked it! I need to do this again!

  4. I have made clipping a filing my nails a part of my regimen. It has helped greatly with snags and I get a "manicure" with every hair washing.

Since I keep my nails short, and rarely wear polish, I don't really see the value in this for me personally...however I can see how it might benefit others.

  6. Well, I keep my nails short and manicured too, but sometimes those snags happen anyway. Again, it's also good for scrubbing your scalp without worrying about scratching it with your nails. It's just an extra precaution for those of us that are a bit overprotective about your hair and scalp. According to the poll, close to 59% of you (at the time this comment was made) wanted to give glove washing a try... good! Make sure to comment on this post once you've tried it and share your thoughts.

  7. I get frantic when my hair snags on my nails I actually asked a fellow natural how to prevent that last week. I just bought cleaning gloves three weeks ago so I am gonna use them. Thanks for this!

  8. Its not bad...I guess I really don't give it much thought, since I use henna in my hair and I apply it with gloves (if you are allergic to latex...nitrile might be an alternative). Since I keep the gloves on from start to finish, the hair gets rinsed with gloves.

  9. This is a great idea. Lately I had been complaining about how my nail polish gets ruined every time I wash my hair and how I find polish chips after washing. I'm defintely gonna give this a try!
