Just high-waist jeans and a blouse. I did a "Tennessee tuck in" on the blouse. If you're asking, "What is that"? It's when you tuck in the front of your shirt and leave the rest out. I first noticed it on men when flashy belt buckles were the "in" thing. Young guys wanted to show their belt buckles without completely tucking their shirts in and running the risk of looking like a dork. They began just tucking in the front of their shirts and thus was born the "Tennesse tuck in". Why am I doing it? I'm not wearing a flashy belt buckle. Well, I'm not Polly Perfect. I think a little intentional chaos and disarray is perfectly okay. Also, the blouse is a large and I wear a small. I'd loose my waist if I would have left the shirt out. This allows me to show my waist, but without being totally tucked in. If you have a cool belt, this would be a good way to showcase it. I'd pair this with an embellished or patterned eye-catching bag
(see Look 7), a cool ring and watch or bracelet.

Me like your style. Gee you sure know how to put an outfit together!
ReplyDeleteLOVE
ReplyDeletewow, this is really pretty, like you are giving me so many ideas and references to back and look at what colors look good, styles, shapes and other goods. I would really love to see like what hairstyle you have that day or week with your outfits, because I think something like this looks good with an updo and look 7 looks good with hair that is up or down. You don't HAVE TO, your a busy woman, but maybe a suggestion? I personally, would really love to see hairstyles.
ReplyDeleteCool SweetKinks... I did think of the whole hairstyle of the day thing. I was curious to see how people would respond to this feature without hair being involved. If it works out, I have more than a few ideas for improvements. All of the outfits I'm wearing have the potential to go well with any hair length or hair style. Thanks for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteI freakin LOVE those Sam Edelman shoes...plus, they look semi comfortable too (are they?)
ReplyDelete*also, any hair updates since your 4th of July milestone? have to ask!
Loving this new feature. Looking forward to more - and I concur on including hairstyles, they would only make it better IMO.
Why is it called the The "Tennessee" Tuck in?
ReplyDeleteSHARAE - I have no idea why it's called the Tennessee Tuck In. I really don't know the origin of the trend. In the post I explain where I first saw the trend and started doing it. That was well over 5 years ago maybe more when I first saw it and realized there was a name for it.
ReplyDeleteDanielle - Comfortable is subjective. If you're used to wearing high heels these are good. The heels are 5.5" that's pretty high. The soles are soft and the rubber bottoms are easy on the feet.
Hair updates coming up now!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maneandchic, I can't wait for all your improvements, and I am excited over your hair update!
ReplyDeleteI think this is my fave outfit so far! Thank you for the styling ideas :)
