Hi!!!!! Excuse my english , i'm a one of your french readers, i looooooooove your site.
I prefer twist outs, i think that there's too much definition in the braid outs, besides it takes a lot of time to do them and to take them out, and as i 'm a bit laaaaaazy, twist outs it's fine for me.
I used to always to twist out but then would notice that they would be flat from me laying down at night. I like braid outs because they give me more definition and I came play around with it more.
Braid outs make my hair more define, where as twist outs made my hair appear more thin and stringy. I've only tried twist twice, and my results weren't what I was looking for. BRAID OUTS are for me.
Twist-outs due to the fact that it's easier, faster and I can re-twist them quickly before bedtime too. Also for me, they look springy and that's usually the look I'm going for.
When I see the term braid-out, I rethink to my transitioning days where I would cornrow my hair, let it out the next day, and have a free flowing curly fro, that had to be reset every night with cornrows. Now I twist my hair once a week, and let out the twists during the week. There's always the problem of shrinkage, that makes the twist outs almost virtually pointless, and far more work than braid-outs for me.
Twist outs because of ease and less time consuming. Though braid outs add more length and definition they look like crimps, rather than curls. I don't really like crimps. Also you can get more length with twist outs if you re-twist dry or semi-dry hair after the firs initial twist.
Plus I not efficient enough to make braids looks super need before the braid out stage.
Also I find depending on your hair the ends may look striaghten or scraggly with a braid out.
But if your trying to do a blow out or straighten your hair afterwards I would suggest braids.
Conclusion for style, convenience and adaptability braid outs.

Braidouts are easier for me to maintain as I can keep my hair stretched at night by rebraiding sections into large chunks.
ReplyDeleteMy twistout shrink uncontrollably within a couple of days and retwisting is not as easy for me without destroying the style.
