The Braid and Coil is a braid-out with finger coiled ends. The Mane and Chic technique requires that the hair is cleansed, conditioned, reconditioned (with copious amounts of conditioner left in), detangled and smoothed in sections with fingers and/or a Denman brush. Once all of that is done, the hair is braided to about 1/2" up from the ends. (You can stop the braid wherever you want to create different results). Do not mix the hair. Once you begin the braid, keep the three sections separate. Next the ends are smoothed around the finger to create the curl. The hair is left untouched until it's completely dry. Once dry, the hair is finger styled.
