Lezlie, in her own words... At this stage in my growth, I use Kinky-Curly products on my hair. I love that the line is organic and natural. I start with the "Come Clean" shampoo, then I apply the "Knot-Today" leave in conditioner and comb through my curls with a wide tooth comb or my finger. If I want perfect spirals with no frizz I will also use the "Curling Custard" once I am out the shower.
I just discovered that organic aloe mixed with coconut oil really moisturizes my hair like nothing else. It also has helped me comb through my hair with no problem. Thank God I found this because I have been really close to cutting it all off again. It’s a love/hate relationship, what can I say? Your best bet is to buy aloe at a health food store, cut it open and blend the gel with another oil (like coconut). Use it in the shower like a detangler and comb through in 4 sections. Aside from that, I never use products with alcohol and try to trim my ends every other month.
I buy my Kinky Curly products from Wilshire Beauty in Los Angeles. They carry several lines for natural hair. I buy my aloe and coconut oil from Erewon and VP Discount. But if you don’t have those stores in your area you can find them ay any health food store like Whole Foods.

I love her hair!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your hair. With regards to the aloe and coconut oil mixture, do you rinse it out or do you leave it in your hair?
ReplyDeleteLet me know... Thanks :-)
Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI leave the aloe and coconut mixture in but make sure you use coconut oil and NOT coconut butter because that will flake in your hair. I had to learn that the hard way :).
Beautiful Lezlie!I love your curls. And I know what you mean when you say you have a love/hate relationship with your hair. I do too lol. What a coincidence It's weird my boyfriend who seriously loves music posted the video on his facebook on Oct 2nd that was my first time watching Femme Fatale or heard of Aloe Blacc. And now I see you and your post for the first time. Small world. I haven't been able to stop playing the song it just keeps playing over and over in my head lol. I love it, you were awesome in it too.
