- Your hair. More often. Also, I know you're not going to show your face but it would be nice. There's my two cents. You probably won't be seeing more of my hair or me, but you will see more from other women.
- I would like to see more of your hair style pictures. I am working on something. It's in the works. It won't involve me or my hair, but other women with different lengths and textures. You should read my HAIRSTYLES post.
- I want to see more methods of how you clump curls. My curls seem to separate. Also do you use hair paste/putty? I can't seem to find a gel or cream that leaves my hair frizz free without it being hard. I use garnier fructis hair paste but I'm still having trouble clumping my curls. Anyways you know how to deal with shrinkage? I only know of smoothing, shingling and using a Denman brush to clump curls. I have already written several posts on the subject. You can see the HAIR 101 THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE for those posts. No, I don't use a hair paste or putty. I have tried some in the past including the one you mention, but they don't do anything for my hair. Plain conditioner or Kinky-Curly Knot Today works for me. I just use copious amounts of conditioner. That may or may not work for you, but that's what I do. You should also read MANE AND CHIC READER'S CHOICE: DOPEST PRODUCTS OF 2010. I'm only one person and I am super picky about what products I use on my hair, so that list is a compilation from hundreds of Mane and Chic readers. Also, for technical instruction on hair techniques, I suggest watching YouTube videos.
- How do you do a rollerset with flexirods? I can't do a rollerset with magnetic rollers. My roots never straighten or my hair never really dries all the way. There are lots of good flexi rod tutorials on YouTube. I think that's the best way to learn. If you've really been reading Mane and Chic then you know I hate doing videos. Hate it with a passion. There are some people that are really good at it and I try to post those links whenever I see a cool tutorial. YouTube is the best for technical instruction for hair and makeup. I list a lot of cool natural/curly channels in the HAIR 101 THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE. Also do you plop your hair? I'd like to see an article on plopping/plunking. No, I don't, but again there are lots of YouTube videos in plopping/plunking. There are literally tons of amazing videos out there already.
- Make-up tips and different ideas on making your own hair products. YouTube is saturated with amazing makeup videos and tutorials. That's where I go for tips and tutorials, but as far as new colors and new products and things like that... you may see more of that here soon. Also look forward to seeing easy one step tips, but nothing super technical. The only way I'd publish info about making hair products is if it's coming from a person very knowledgeable on the subject like the ones I've already published by Anita Grant. You may see more of that. It's not really my thing and I don't think women should be experimenting with stuff unless they have researched it or if the advice is coming from an expert in both natural hair and the chemistry of ingredients.
- Can you do a post on wearing white in the winter?!.. I just made an impulse buy and got some really cute white leather knee boots...now i have no clue what to wear with them...So a post on whether white in winter is a yay or nay..thanks :) That's interesting. You might see that soon on Mane and Chic.
- I have a question about porosity and density. I understand it all and tried my best to correct the high porosity in my hair with products low in pH, but it seems like my hair requires so much WEIGHT to look right. This results in packing on loads of product that takes hours to dry with zero fluff. Do you think it could be porosity? Or perhaps low density of my strands? Any suggestions to fix the problem would be deeply appreciated. Thanks. My hair is fine too and when I pack on a lot of product it gets weighed down. If you feel like you need to use a lot of product, it may not be the right product for you. I use copious amounts of cheap conditioner sometimes because it's cheap, but in a dream world I'd use a light leave in like Knot Today and an aloe vera based styling aid to set it... let it dry and it will be voluminous and bouncy.
- College style and how to keep hair fab while in college! The majority of Mane and Chic readers are college students and young professionals and I'm definitely always thinking of this when I'm posting hair and wardrobe building pieces. I hear you.
- I just want to see more wardrobe building and look ideas. Cool and you will see more of that. I have plans to take it up a notch soon.
- I would like to see more things to do with natural hair on our off days. Such as protective styles, tutorials on how to tie ethnic head scarves. And also more ways to maintain healthy hair. I hear you.
- I would love to see more articles on styling type 4 hair. Its so hard for me to get up in the morning and style my hair once it has dried. Its so much easier when its wet but I don't like to air dry my hair in the winter time. And I can't do buns cause my hair is too short and the shrinkage is a beast. So I need more protective styling ideas. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! You should embrace braid outs and twist outs. They have saved my life. You just re-set the braids or twists at night. What's great is that they work on all hair types if you're using the right products. Read 10 Tips for Perfecting Your Wet Set Braid Out for more details).
- Could you post or direct me to styles for the winter? At the moment wash-n-gos are my only style because braiding and twisting don't really work for me. Any ideas? Rollersets, Braid Outs and Twist Outs are your best friends for winter.
- I love the Featured Curls section because Im in transition (14 months..Yay me!) so more of that would be nice and also in the Featured Curls section more 4a4b curlies like myself. Even though Featured Curls is one of the more popular features, I have stopped doing it because there wasn't enough reader interaction and a lot of people were stealing the women's pictures and using them as FaceBook images and other places. I'm working on something similar, but better. It may be awhile before you see that.
- I would like to see more wardrobe building ideas for ballers on a budget! Although those ideas you give are super cute, they are a little pricey...If you could do a look for less that would be fab! I post what looks good and what works for the blog layout wise. Sometimes I see a lot of cool stuff, but it will be on a straight haired model and that doesn't fit with the message of Mane and Chic so I don't post it. Unless it's really dope. I look at prices and sometimes I don't. I always try to be conscious of price because I don't spend a lot of money on... well... anything, but I do like to look and be inspired and that's what I'm hoping that you get out of it.
