Writing is Cathartic

I've never been a big Oprah watcher. I am a fan, I admire her especially because she is an Aquarian (like me),  but I've never watched her show religiously. This is her last season and I've been DVR-ing it. The biggest single lesson I'm getting from this season so far is how cathartic writing can be.

I know this from my own experience and seeing it work with other people just reinforces it. I can't tell you enough about what writing has done for me. It helped me get over stuff, find new stuff and it continues to help me reach my full potential. I try to write in a journal every night... like clock work.  It's been life changing — literally.

Has writing helped you?

  1. Yes. I keep a journal on penzu.com (the website keeps it private, unless I want to share) and I can make entries from my cell, via email, or my comp.

journaling's a nice break from all the restrictions of journalism classes and what not too.

  2. I totally agree!! I enjoy writing about my fitness journey and the trials & tribulations I go thru and instantly I feel better b/c I've gotten everything off my chest

  3. Writing has definitely been cathartic for me. I've even gotten up in the middle of the night if I can't sleep. When too much time passes where I dont journal, all the stress eats me up. I started at age 16, and still at twenty years later.

  5. It keeps me sane....I'm the mother of a 5 yr old Autistic little boy and this has definitely been one roller coaster ride...I go from blogging to plugging away in an old school journal.....definitely helps.
